Having lived my entire life in South Wales and studied through the medium of Welsh until college, I am a fluent Welsh speaker. However, living in South Wales I rarely find myself having the opportunity to converse with others in Welsh, this has lead to my understanding of the language becoming rusty over time. This project marks my efforts to re-engage with the language and seek others who also speak Welsh in order to practice and become confident in conversation again. This project has taken me across Wales and has allowed me to meet some amazing people along the journey. Whilst I began this project in 2024 I feel that this is one of those things that is never really finished and is something that I am actively trying to practice at every opportunity.
Some areas this project has taken me so far include: Caernarfon, Aberystwyth, Dolgellau, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Porthmadog, Llandudno and many more.
